The ancient Israelites were composed of twelve tribes, which eventually split into two kingdoms. The largest kingdom, Israel, was composed of ten tribes. The smaller kingdom, Judah, was composed of two tribes. Judah was "Jewish,"... Israel was not. While Judah continued as a "kingdom" into the Roman times and remains as an identifiable tribe to this day, the kingdom of Israel fell to the Assyrians in 721 B.C. and disappeared or "lost" to much of secular history.
ARE THE TRIBES OF ISRAEL REALLY LOST? Many assume that the ten tribes of Israel disappeared or "died" out in ancient history.
However, evidence indicates the opposite is true. A century after the ten tribes were driven from Palestine, YHWH sent them a message via the Prophet Jeremiah. So the Scriptures show that they were not yet lost. Josephus knew where they were in the 1st Century A.D. He comments on their expanding population and even names one of their geographical borders. Greco-Roman historians wrote much about them as did Jewish writers during the Middle Ages. 19th Century British historians wrote many works about the history of the ten tribes, and many in the Victorian Age learned the history of the ten tribes and where they were at that time.
For much of the 20th century, the history of the ten tribes of Israel has been forgotten or ignored. Many Christians regard our current time as "the latter day" period of time which will precede the return of the Messiah. Genesis 49 and other prophecies declare the tribes of Israel will all be present and identifiable in the latter days.
ISRAEL'S TRIBES TODAY
This fourth book of a series, Israel's Tribes Today, identifies the modern locations of the tribes of Israel, and it examines the migrations that brought them to their current locations. Modern world geopolitics will be seen in an entirely new light as a result.
Most efforts to locate the "lost" House of Israel have failed because of erroneous assumptions. Searchers assume that the supposedly "lost" ten tribes of Israel would be found in isolated little bands of people. However, the first chapter of Hosea and other Biblical prophecies foretold that the nations of the ten tribes would be found among the wealthy and powerful nations with large populations!
This book identifies the modern House of Israel as those nations descending from the Goths, Saxons, Germans and related peoples who migrated into Europe from Asia after the fall of Parthia and Scythia. They have enjoyed national prominence, power, and prosperity as the primary recipients of the divine "birthright" blessings of the Abrahamic Covenant. Many nations have Israelite roots, in whole or in part. Not only did they retain Semitic-Israelite names and customs, but many of the tribal and clan names of the ten tribes of Israel are found among them. This book presents exciting new research and over 140 maps, charts, and illustrations to provide convincing evidence concerning the Israelite origin of large modern nations.
The final portion of this book utilizes Biblical prophecies about the tribes of Israel, as well as evidence from secular history, to identify the descendants of each tribe in the modern world. Readers may marvel at how specifically the prophecies have been fulfilled among modern nations, and that these nations even now enjoy the promised blessings of the Abrahamic Covenant. With the substantial body of evidence laid out in this book, their Israelite origin and character is impossible to miss.
Israel's Tribes Today is fully indexed, contains a large number of photographs, illustrations, narratives and maps... over 140 illustrations. This new book is 6x9 inches, 312 pages and has a full-color cover.
